Poetry

Since I'm not in the "blogging mood" right now, I'll post up a poem from the past again! I wrote this when I was in the 8th grade (a terribly long time ago), and this is one of my first attempts at poetry. Hope you enjoy!

Lost at Sea
The birds soared across the sky
with love songs in their soul
My dear, they sing for you tonight
even as the thunder rolls

I sat under the willow tree
and waited for you there
For that day you set across the sea
as I tied a ribbon in my hair

I waited for hours, for days, for years
but still you never came
I tried to bury all my fears
and realized... nothing would be the same

Forever I will wait for you
forever and a day
And as I stare into the ocean blue
silently I will pray
